Lisa Popeil, MFA in Voice, is one of America's top voice coaches.  Her musical experience spans 50 years with 30 years of professional teaching. The Voiceworks Studio is located in Sherman Oaks, California, 25 minutes north of the Los Angeles International Airport, 20 minutes from the Burbank Airport and just north of Beverly Hills, Hollywood and the Westside.

All levels of experience and styles of singing are welcome. Audition is not required and all lessons are paid for at the time of service. To record your lesson, you may bring your choice of a hard-disk recorder with microphone like an iPod or other digital hand recorder, your laptop with GarageBand or Photobooth or a blank CD.

The Voiceworks Studio includes a digital recording studio, transposing keyboard and a performance area with stage, lights, sound system and video. In addition, Lisa is a sight-reading accompanist if you choose to bring your own sheet music. Students should feel free to bring karaoke CD's as accompaniment and recording artists are encouraged to bring tracks from current CD projects. Singers who wish to receive singing instruction with Lisa Popeil who reside outside the Los Angeles area may receive voice-lessons with SightSpeed and Skype. These webcam lessons have proved highly successful and create an exciting opportunity for singers around the world to receive the same qualified instruction as in person. Lessons are conducted in English.

Half-hour and one-hour private singing and speech lessons are available Wednesday through Sunday (Wednesday 3pm-6pm, Thursday-Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday-Sunday 10am-5pm). Current rates are $75 per half-hour, $150 per hour.

Cancellation Policy: Your lesson time is reserved for you and others will be turned away for that time so please schedule carefully.  Let me know at least 24 hours ahead of time (more if possible) if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or reschedules within less than 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will result in being charged the full amount for the lesson.

Clientele range from vocal hobbyists to celebrities in radio, TV, film and stage and other vocal coaches. I accept children beginning at age 7 and professional children at age 6.


Lisa is available for on-set or in-studio coaching and will need to charge an additional travel fee.


For my celebrity clients, I offer anonymity and currently have a policy of not using your name publicly for promotional benefit.
